When you drive a Subaru, you're driving a vehicle that's known for its impressive quality. Based on IHS Markit information, 97% of Subaru models sold within the past decade are still on the road today. This kind of quality is hard to find, and Subaru is proud to stand behind it with warranties that cover different aspects of your new vehicle. If your Subaru has a problem that's covered by the warranty, the cost of parts and labor at your local Subaru service center will be covered.
At Capitol Subaru, we want to make sure you have access to important information about your vehicle. That's why we've put together information pages like this one. Below, you'll find four things that are covered by the new 2020 Subaru warranty.

4. Rust Perforation Limited Warranty
The Rust Perforation Limited Warranty lasts for five years, with unlimited mileage. If the body panels of your Subaru have been completely rusted through (in other words, perforated by corrosion) and it's due to a defect, this warranty will cover the cost of repairing the damage. Keep in mind, though, that this warranty doesn't cover rust on other parts of the Subaru. It also doesn't cover rust that has been caused by stones, mud, and other environmental factors.

3. Wear Item Limited Warranty
This warranty covers components that are prone to wearing down, such as the clutch linings, wiper blades, and brake pads. It will cover these components for three years or 36,000 miles--whichever comes first. Keep in mind that these items are designed to wear down, and certain wear may not be covered by the warranty. It only covers factory defects that affect these components.

2. Powertrain Limited Warranty
As the name indicates, this warranty covers the major components of the powertrain. The engine is covered under this warranty, but it's far from the only thing. Intake and exhaust manifolds, the water pump, and the flywheel are some of the other powertrain components that this warranty covers. In addition, the transmission and related components are also covered. The Powertrain Limited Warranty will last for five years or 60,000 miles.
1. New Car Limited Warranty
This is the basic warranty that covers the entire vehicle for three years or 36,000 miles. While it doesn't cover damage from things like accidents, misuse, or failure to keep up with maintenance, it will cover the cost of parts and labor if a factory defect has caused the problem.
