Capitol Subaru of Salem's Bauman's Pop-Up Garden Event was a wonderful day filled with community, connection, and plenty of wagging tails! Capitol Subaru "Shares the Love" with Oregon Humane Salem Campus with $52,000 Donation - Raeann G
The donation is the result of Subaru's Share the Love event, which ran November 2025 to January 2026. Salem, Ore – Oregon Humane Salem Campus has received a $52,000 donation from Capitol Subaru as part of the annual Share the Love promotion. This is the 12th year that Capitol Subaru of Salem has chosen Oregon Humane as its Hometown Charity of Choice for their Share the Love promotion, which ran November 2025 through January 2026. During the Share the Love promotion, Subaru of America and Capitol Subaru donated $325 for every new Subaru sold. This year's $52,000 gift brings the total Share the Love donations from Capitol Subaru to $600,000 over the 12-year partnership. Additionally, Capitol Subaru supports Oregon Humane Salem Campus through event sponsorship, volunteering, and other onsite activities, and has been a supporter of mid-Valley animal welfare organizations since 1999. "Like Oregon Humane, Capitol Subaru has been serving our community for decades," said Carrie Casebeer, Marketing Director, Capitol Auto Group. "And while our team is committed to supporting many local organizations, Oregon Humane is special to us. We see the impactful work they do for pets and people each day and are proud to support this life-changing work. Also, in case anyone doesn't know, we love dogs here at Subaru! And even cats too!" Funding from Capitol Subaru is critical to helping dogs like Nattie, a 4-year-old husky who was transferred to Oregon Humane Salem Campus from Marion County Dog Services and needed extensive medical care. She is now healthy, happy, and ready for adventure! In 2025, Oregon Humane Salem Campus found homes for 3,430 pets and provided spay/neuter services for 5,660 animals including shelter pets, owned, and community cats. Additionally, 32 percent of Oregon Humane's Law Enforcement work is done in Marion County. The company has raised over $3.1 million for the United Way in the last ten years. This includes $1.3 million in just the last three years alone. Lucy's Story - Brian S
2025 was a really hard year for Lucy. First her human dad died, and then her human mom got sick and began receiving hospice care at home. Her mom asked the Pet Peace of Mind® program at Willamette Vital Health to help find a loving new home for Lucy. She had 'interviews' with potential adopters, and asked her granddaughter to carry on after she passed. The online post about Lucy caught Debbie's attention, because it mentioned how much she looked like the movie dog, Benji, when her fur grows out, and Debbie had been looking for a companion for her dog, named – you guessed it – Benji! We arranged a meet-up with Debbie and her dog at the dog park on the property of our long-time supporter, Capitol Subaru. Debbie took her home for a trial weekend and they got along great! Two month's later, Debbie wrote: "Lucy is settling in, she loves doggy daycare!...She loves to play with Benji now, but when she is done, she is done!…Lucy has been a great addition to my 'pack' and I look forward to more adventures with her! Thank you for letting me adopt her!" We know that Lucy's future is bright, with just the kind of family that her original owners were hoping for. Thank you Capitol Subaru for being our Title Sponsor for the Pet Peace of Mind program so dogs like Lucy can live long and happy lives and also allow us humans to live better lives!!!
Capitol Subaru and the Road to Recovery - Brian S

Alex Casebeer, Capitol Subarus Dealer Principal states " we do this because it is the right thing to do, we are committed to being a Subaru retailer not just another car dealer". "We believe in the Love Promise and in supporting our community".
