What Are the Indications?

File a police report, for starters--this alerts the authorities to the fact that someone might be damaging vehicles to steal gas. It might also be a good idea to set up a security camera near your vehicle. While it's doubtful that the criminals will hit the same car twice, the possibility is always there. Steps like these can help save others from the same fate, and they might even protect you from being stolen from again.
