Subaru Crosstrek vs. The Competition
How Does the Subaru Crosstrek Stack Up to Competition?
Are you shopping for the right new crossover SUV for the right price in Salem, OR? The Subaru Crosstrek is a subcompact crossover SUV that's smaller in stature, but offers the space, versatility, and performance you want to travel anywhere while also saving on fuel. At Capitol Subaru of Salem, we have a terrific selection of new Subaru Crosstrek models that we want to share with you. The Crosstrek lineup is large and diverse, offering two engine options, five trim levels, and an off-road enhanced Crosstrek Wilderness model to provide you with everything you want in a subcompact crossover SUV and more.
To help you get a better idea of why the Subaru Crosstrek is the right vehicle for you, we're going to compare the lineup to its competition, including the Honda HR-V and Jeep Compass, giving you a side-by-side look at what vehicle fits your lifestyle and needs the best.
Subaru Crosstrek vs. Honda HR-V

Performance
Every new Subaru Crosstrek model comes with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. The Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is different from other systems, as it's built to always send power to all four-wheels and divert the power to the wheels with the most traction if any should slip in poor weather conditions around Keizer, OR and beyond. The Honda HR-V lineup comes with a standard front-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive available on all models at a higher price.
Under the hood, the Subaru Crosstrek lineup offers a stronger performance than the Honda HR-V lineup does. The Crosstrek has two engine options, with the first being a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine with 152-horsepower and 145 pounds-feet of torque. The HR-V lineup only has one engine, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 158-horsepower and 138 pounds-feet of torque. Choosing a Crosstrek Sport, Limited, or Wilderness model will reward you with a stronger 2.5-liter four-cylinder 182-horsepower and 176 pounds-feet of torque.
Technology Features
The Subaru Crosstrek lineup offers a standard Starlink multimedia system in every model. The system either comes on a standard 7-inch or available 11.6-inch vertical touchscreen display. The Honda HR-V lineup has a standard 7-inch touchscreen on a few trim levels, with a 9-inch touchscreen available on the highest trim levels.

Subaru Crosstrek vs. Jeep Compass

Price
The new Subaru Crosstrek lineup starts at just under $25,000, while new Compass models start at slightly over $26,000. That means that you can either save by choosing a Base Crosstrek model or upgrade to a nicer trim level for a similar price to the Compass.
Performance
All the new Subaru Crosstrek models come with the legendary Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, allowing you to traverse the toughest trails around Monmouth, OR and the poorest weather conditions with more confidence and freedom. The Jeep Compass, which does have multiple 4x4 systems available on models for higher prices, comes with standard front-wheel drive.
The new Crosstrek lineup also delivers higher fuel economy in the city and on the highway than the Jeep Compass lineup, allowing you to save on every outing to Dallas, OR and beyond.

Technology and Safety Features
The Crosstrek and Compass models both come with cutting-edge infotainment systems, with the Crosstrek offering either a standard 7-inch dual touchscreen system on the Base trim level only, with a larger 11.6-inch touchscreen in all other models, keeping you connected as you travel around Lincoln City, OR and beyond. The Jeep Compass lineup only offers a 10.1-inch touchscreen.
